Word of the Actor was founded in Singapore in March 2009, by Faye Kingslee, an actress currently based in Los Angeles. The group is now coordinated & run by Tushar Ismail and Laura Kee, two actors based in Singapore. Faye has also set up a branch of Word of the Actor in Los Angeles, which started in April 2010. Word of the Actor is a group set up for Actors & Directors to work on scenes, geared specifically towards screen acting. For the DIRECTOR: Work with Actors who are ready to Take Direction. Work on Communicating with the Actor to Deliver what You Want Out of a Scene Push Performance to Create Interesting Characters who are In The Moment Understand the Actor’s Psyche & How Actors Work Through Scenes For the ACTOR: Keep the Acting Muscle flexed and ready to work! Work with Different Directors & Harness their Tools to Make Adjustments Focus on Performance & Character, Motivations & Intention Establish a Believable Performance which is Interesting to Watch Word sessions run every Wednesday night, 7 – 9 p.m. These sessions are supported by Sinema Old School, the independent film hub of Singapore. Spaces are strictly limited to 6 – 8 Actors per week, with 1 Director to conduct the session. Our focus is on film actors & directors; so please ensure that if you are interested in attending, you have the credited experience to back it up.
